..was my dear husband's birthday so we went out for a meal. For the first time, like, ever, I drove out to a village so i couldn't drink and yes, found it quite tricky. However, we had a wonderful night! Afterwards we went back to our 'local' where I have to say I found the people we spoke to, who had been drinking incredibly dull - came home and went to bed with a good book!

Day 13 here I come.

Isn't it funny how dull AND ugly people get the longer the night wears on and the more they drink? Slurring, hooded eyes, dehydrated skin...my sheer vanity sometimes keeps me sober! I want to be the hot one in the bar...not the drunken mess.

Glad you did so well!! Keep it up! You'll keep finding other reasons that NOT drinking is the only way out there.

Good for you SadMummy! I'm pretty comfortable now going out without drinking. It does tempt me, but sitting back and watching people is my new drink.
