New to this
Hello everyone. Just wanted to step up an introduce myself here.
I am involved in a very long time relationship with my girlfriend who loves her wine. More so than I would like her to be.
I myself am a former substance abuser.
I have been clean now for almost 5 years.
I was encouraged to come here and maybe gain some insight on my relationship with my girlfriend and her love for wine.
I am new to this type of forum and therapy so for now I am just going to try and get aquinted with the site and various forum topics.
Thanks to everyone in advance.
I hope to learn things here about not only my relationships in life but myself as well.

Hello TsB, and welcome to SR! I hope you'll take some time to check out the Friends And Family forums on this site, they can be very informative about the significant others in our lives.
In recovery I've discovered that I can be loving, compassionate, and tolerant towards people who choose to stay in their disease, but above all I need to keep my focus on staying clean & sober.

Welcome TsB! You have come to the right place. It is so important that you stay focused on your recovery, no matter what she decides to do.
Has her drinking progressed over the long relationship?

Welcome Ts,
ITP is going through a similar situation. Hopefully you will be a strong as he during a very trying time. You can read his posts in the friends and family forums. As Astro suggested, that would be a great place for you to start!
Here is a copy of his first and second posts so you can catch up! Prayers

Thank you all for the warm welcomes.
And thanks for pointing me to a place to start (Friends & Family Forum).
Yes it has.
She pretty much keeps it confined to evenings and night time but I can sometimes see that it is a priority for her to get that 1st bottle cracked open.
