ok. i kept my big codie mouth shut about whether daughter had her fine money for her court date today. just tried yesterday to have a "in the day" day with her. just the past few weeks of sobriety has made a big change, let me tell you. my mom had spent a day with her last week and my mom had told me, "you are going to really see the difference..." and my mom knows, cuz she has seen the worst of it.
anyway, we had a lovely in the present day yesterday. i am so grateful for that. we kicked ass on the water slides. some of the littler kids tried to cut in front of us a few times, but we took none of that.
today she announced that she has the fine money, and started on her way about 9am to get it paid. had a lot of hoops to jump through at the courthouse, but other than a ride there and back a few times - i think she may be closing the book on her dui fine commitments as we speak.
i offered to go along as morale support to the judge part, and she said no, that she needs to do it on her own.
that'a girl!
she's going back in the morn to gma's.
i'm trying real hard not to put expections on her.
at one point today, i actually felt like i was going to miss her at the house when she leaves in the morn.
that's progress.
grateful. grateful for every day sober.
i actually got a hug and "i love you, mom" today.

Thanks for checking on me. I'm ok. Just got my feelings hurt here. Still working through it. Trying to remember that feelings aren't facts!
K, I am so happy that you have had a nice visit with your daughter. I'm sure it is hard not to have expectations of her. You are handling it great!
School starts tomorrow. Oh joy. But I made an A in my summer class!
