Thank you! I just finally about 15 mins ago got the courage to call the Dr. for some help. I know I can and have to do this. Amazing to realize how out of control our lives are sometimes without even knowing it. Good job, family, etc. I don't want to lose that!
Hey ya Scott!!! I was wondering where you went, my little buddy. That took a lot of courage to tell your doctor. That's a big step. You're not going to lose any of "it" (job, family, etc.) since you are getting help right now. You'll want to kiss your younger self ina year or two. Oh..I'm so glad to see you back. This place is full of positive energy today and I sure need it.
Good luck. I don't have the courage to go to my doctor about my little codeine habit, so well done!
I never seem to get past Day 3! I have an excellent taper programme that gets me over the physical withdrawal side (I have had so much practice with this!). But mental cravings, that is something I have never learnt to deal with.
I think we lose our emotional coping mechanisms when we rely on a drug (alcohol included) to deal with life. I feel naked without it. I can't believe I once coped with life just fine without any of this stuff.
