Will wonders never cease! The Assistant Director made them...and totally outdid herself! I had two, and brought one back for later. She even put a few raisins in the bottom of each apple...never made them that way myself. YUMMY!!!

I lost my recipe for quiche..my boy is asking for it.

Remember most of it, but does anyone use cream cheese or cream in

theirs? May have to google.

Had to wrack the old brain for "meatless" recipes. Remembered this one the family enjoyed. It's a version of SOS learned from my Mom.

Make a simple roue of melted butter or margarine, flour, milk...enough for a cup or two, depending on the number of servings needed.
Add a can or two of drained tuna and a can of drained green peas.
Season with pepper, if you like.
Mix good and heat well.

Serve over white toast or toasted English muffins. Simple, cheap, goes far.

Jersey that is so ironic. My family and I had dinner with my Mom tonight and she suggested this recipe. She said it was one of her favorites as a kid. She also suggested Spanish Rice. I know it usually takes meat, but I could do it without I guess. Ground turkey or hamburger isn't too pricey yet.

IO - I LOVE quiche!! That's a great idea! We may be doing a few breakfast dinners. My son loves having pancakes for dinner. Who doesn't?

Also am thinking soups and I love buying those whole chickens because you get 2 or 3 meals out of one bird. I always make soup from the bones.

Thanks again friends.

Rust!

Hey you!

You talkin' 'bout my boy? *Lol*

I used make it..it was killer..eggs, bacon, sauteed onions, cheddar cheese.

Put it in a deep dish pie shell. Just forgot the cream.

Thanks!

(I think)

Real men love quiche *Lol*

xx

As an "activity", we are having cinnamon toast and tea at 3:00, in honor of the first day of Fall. YUMMY!

And, I think I talked the Food Director into trying SOS one day next week.

Hello, everyone...haven't been on this thread for a little while...

Just got done eating a sirloin steak....mmm...grilled to perfection outdoors...

...no gas grill here...charcoal all the way, baby!

Those charcoal starters are super nifty. No lighter fluid taste! Wow! Mmmm....smokey steak...!

My ex, God love him, used to be heavy-handed with the lighter fluid...everything had that awful taste. When we divorced, I learned to use the charcoal grille myself...everything cooked to perfection!

No fancy cooking today...

Takeout..delivered to the front door.

Fried shrimp. Double order Thai spicy shrimp rice noodles.

I tasted.

Flew up..came down.

You know it's good when your upper lip begins to perspire..

I just made a grilled cheese on cheddar artisan bread. It was really good..
I saw Mr food on tv make a grilled peanut butter and fluff sandwich. Made just like grilled cheese. Looked good. But way too sweet for me.
