Really enjoying my dogs a lot more since I've been sober. I think they might be enjoying me more (sober) also! THey get more walks and their dinners are always on time. I am relearning how valuable their devotion is to me and how they enrich my life... now that I'm sober to even notice such things.

Actually I seem to be noticing more things in the last month or so. More aware. Sometimes more aware of the bad things, but oh so much more aware of the good things, the 'little' things that make or break us.

I love my dogs so much I'll stay sober for them, if not for myself! But it's great to have such a compelling reason for sobriety. And they're warmth and safety at night.

Just a brief check in! I'm feeling physically a lot better today.Thank God.I hate being sick and it's rare for me.

Tons to catch up on here.Merlin-my dog -is still low but on the mend.Back to the vet again tomorrow.

I'm stressing about money-his unexpected visits to the vets plus some other major bills all of a sudden have really thrown me.But I'll be okay.I've lived on far less before.I just find it hard to stop worrying, you know? I really wanted to drink over it this afternoon-but managed to talk to a friend who helped me calm down and see sense.Thank God for other recovering alcoholics.Truly.

That said-hugs to all who need them-especially Gyps.Wish I could do more for you.

Glad you checked in stoney!

Hope you all have a good weekend,

Love, Julesxox

Class was great. The yoga was easier than the usual moon flow since there were less fanatical peeps there than I but one of my gfs came and did the whole thing and that was cool. She's not used to doing so much yoga.

Food was good. Talking stick circle was good. Some people had sadness and complaints to get off their chest. I just stuck with the positive. That I love my kids and and grateful that I'm on this spiritual path of yoga that it's changing me and helping me with obstacles in my life that I have or have let be created yada yada yada. It felt nice that people could share and listen, and be respected. Not used to that around my house.

Oh the tattoo artists wife came too with a sketch of something for me. I liked it ( so did everyone else) but it's too big and the outline needs to be changed to something darker and I want some scrolls dammit. I'm not picky am I lol?

Just checking in and letting you know I'm OK. Sad, but OK. Someone brought a six pack of beer to the thing. I did not drink. Rella said she would kick my ass when I spoke to her right before while I was driving there.

I guess I'll look into counseling somehow. There must something free for emotionally abused women even though I technically supposedly have spousal support since we are married shouldn't there?

Or I can just give up I guess.

Alive, didn't drink, groin and shoulder aching , heart too.

And dammit I missed Krissy!

Gonna read now down here since he said he didn't like the cd I put on last night (yoga- ish music... but he didn't like the guys voice .) And he doesn't like the TV on when I can't sleep either. Or the light when I try to read. If he's sleeping why should any of it matter!

Love to all.

Especially RKs excellent post. And CMC's :ghug

Hi Jules... just being here (albeit over there) is doing something.Really. And thank you. I hope you and the dog feel better.

DeeDee .

((((((((Gyps))))))))

I don't know what your system is like there-but here you can get free counselling through Womens Refuge Centers. They deal with physically abused women mostly-but emotional abuse is also just as valid and recognised and help is available.I appreciate this is probably useless to you given you live over there-but I'm really just saying there must be some kind of equivalent there perhaps too?

I'm just really sorry you're hurting.

Love you tons,

Julesxox

Thanks Jules. Yes, I'm sure we have programs for that but last time I checked into it it was based on household income and since we have one... his... I would still have to pay a sliding fee which was rather expensive at the time.

I will check things out and make some calls after the weekend. Maybe my church can help... though the Catholic church ALWAYS wants $$$ too lol!

Thanks for the love. Back at ya, Notice, no bricks .

Really getting off of here now. My O is broken again and it's annoying me!
