Im so proud of everyone here. You guys rock!!!!! This has become an awesome thread. And without you guys, there would be no thread. Im off to my Sponsors for dinner. His wife said if I buy the Brownies she would make them. She was gonna get two boxes. I asked her to pick up 4 boxes and I would reimburse her when I got there. Yeah, I like Brownies. If theres any left I will bring you guys some.

Smile day 3!

Hi everyone again, today is day 3 and it's almost bed time, so I think i'll make it till tomorrow. Feeling much better today but i am also sluggish and not eating too well right now. Instead of the no sleep problem that lots of people are having I have the opposite problem. All I wanna do is sleep, i've had to drag myself through the day and just can't wait to get home from work and just, well, go back to bed! I am telling myself that this is temporary and that each day that passes I will make a small change to add in healthier meals, drink more water, etc. Plus exercise--that is probably the best thing I could do for myself right now. The weekend is approaching, my dangerous time. I know I need a plan because, if you fail to plan you plan to fail. So I wanna make sure that I have something in place so I don't come home from work on Friday restless and thinking about partying. I'm open to anyone's ideas =)

I was reading everyone's posts and all of you are really inspiring and strong, thanks to all of you out there and it is so so true, no one thing is worth more than your health and sanity. No amount of alcohol will ever provide you with the health, strength, love and nurturing you want and deserve. It will only bring you pain, sickness, and eventually, death. I wanna grow old and be as healthy and alive as I can be. I think of all the time that's been wasted, literally and figuratively, and I don't want to waste any more. We can do it!
good night everyone and may you all sleep well knowing you are doing the best thing, the most important thing, that you can for yourself.

A big part of my recovery is my dog-believe it or not.I love him with my life.He is a sock thief, sheet and newspaper ripper-upper, lol mischievious, 'how many toys can one dog stuff into his mouth' expert, scared of kiddies paddling pools,(LOL),adventurous, loving, giving, loyal to a fault and has seen me in my worst moments and my best. Maybe this is my equivilant to what bikes and cars do for others?I dunno. But here's a video I made of him about 2 years ago....(hence the wine glass in one pic. It's ok-I'm still sober today-LOL)

If you're a dog lover-enjoy!(the other dogs in these pics are ones I look after here-that's my home based business-there's always dogs in my house)

And-here's one of Merlin and his friends that visit here.I love them all!

My dogs are a huge part of my recovery. They love and trust me no matter what. They soothe me when I'm worried. They give back to me so much more than I could ever give to them, even counting vet bills!

They are also my Higher Power, right up there with God. They also love and forgive as God does and they don't hold grudges or regret the past or worry about the future. I can learn from them to love unconditionally.

Yes, they are wise, and also good at what they do. It seems that few humans are as good at being human as a dog is at being a dog.

Yes, my dogs are walking the Recovery Road with me! Hey everyone! Bring your dogs with you as we walk along sobriety street. And, of course, bring some "doggie bags"!

LOL okay okay-I concede.....(mea culpa!)

I'm obsessed with my dog.I admit it-LOL. Sorry.Wasn't meaning to be a b*tch.Truly.

As to Merlin? If he'd been a human? He'd be a worse alkie than me.I'm telling ya-I call him raindog-like rainman.Everything has to happen in exactly the same way at exactly the same time-otherwise he barks and sulks.Reminds me of....oh gosh....I can't quite think of who that might be?......

(yes-it's me!)

Thanks xox

A friend of mine called and said he drank today. He was a like couple days + or - within my clean date. He was feeling pretty guilty. Hopefully he comes back to the meetings tommorow. I frickin hate this disease.

I'm really sorry about your friend. I hate this disease too. I refuse to let it kill me-that's partly why we're here right? To not let it.Can't be alone in this.I hope they come back and try again.I'll never forget when I went to my first A.A meeting and they had a moments silence for the 'still suffering alcoholic' and I burst into tears(and I'm not a crier-big surprise-I know)

I'll think of them.

That aside-Buddy is a lovely dog.Take good care of him. They're loyal to a fault and a reminder of everything good in this world too.

Jules.

Yeah, he I have seen him at a meeting pretty much everyday. Hopefully I will see him there tommorow. I also mentioned SoberRecovery to him. This place helps me a lot too. As for the Dogs. I love Dogs. I had a Black Lab named Bo. He lived to be 14. He was awesome. He passed away in Feb of '06. I was crushed. I had been clean about nine months at the time. It was tough. The next day I went to the Animal Shelter and adopted Buddy. I love him just as much as I did Bo.
