Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood enters rehab
LONDON (Reuters) - Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has entered rehab for a drinking problem, his spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
"Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab," Wood's spokeswoman said in London. "His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery."
The announcement followed a series of British newspaper reports that Wood, 61, had been spending time at his Irish retreat with a young Russian cocktail waitress.
They added that the relationship had threatened his 23-year-old marriage to wife Jo.
Wood, who has had a history of substance abuse, told Reuters in an interview last year that his wife and Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger had persuaded him to enter rehab before the band's 2002 tour.
Before then, it was fellow guitarist Keith Richards who tried to help him sober up, he said, sometimes drawing a knife or wielding a pistol in the process.
a new non 12 step aproach?
Good luck to Ronnie

I find it funny that Keith is trying to help get Ronnie sober lol. Isn't he like the undead or something?
Seriously, can't be easy being a huge rock star like that and being in recovery.
Keeping Ronnie in my prayers...

The Stones - responsible for a good portion of the soundtrack to my life. I was just saying the other day I can't believe those boys are still standing - let alone performing. Not because of their age, but what they've done to their bodies. I guess there's hope for us all!

I also wish him well. I recently read his autobiography, published this year, and he was pretty honest about his drinking problems, and alluded several times to them, but seemed to stop short of making any statements about quitting (that he had or would).
I suspected it was an ongoing struggle for him.
I also hope he and Jo, his wife, can work it out. It was obvious how much he loved her in his book.
