God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.

hey nuno,
i say the serenity prayer about a hundred times a day. it helps me alot!
sometimes i just say the short version.... GRANT!!!! (thanks rusty zipper )
i say it about everything from my daughter's addiction to my codependence to destroying a perfectly lovely pineapple upside down cake by dropping it on the floor (which i did a few days ago...)
it's like a time out or a good ol' fashion "count to 10!" it gives me focus, a chance to just step back and breathe, before i do the next thing.
HOPEFULLY is the next RIGHT thing.
hugs, k
