Hi Everybody From the New Newbie

Hmmmm...Where do I start? Well, of course, I'm new here, forums & blogs. I had to learn how to post this thread. We'll see if I did it right.

Okay, first of all, thank God for you guys! This was the first forum on my Google results so here I am. I'm not sure how to begin. I'm hoping through this forum and website I can achieve sobriety. I know I will.

Second matter of business, what resources can I find here educate on the quitting and abstinence steps of alcohol? Honestly, I found myself having trouble navigating through. I didn't know if the resources were in the forum area or on the general site. I'm a doofus sometimes!

Anyhoo, before I start babbling I'm gonna go.

Thanx again!

-Mike

Hi and Welcome!

I'm not sure what resources you're looking for, but this is a link to recovery programs:

Hi Anna,
Thanx for your reply! I'm just looking for a resource that helps teach to put the stuff down and how to introduce and enforce abstinence. I'm checking out the links you sent. THANX!

Okay, here is a link called Quitting: What to Expect. Have you talked to your dr? Detoxing from alcohol can be dangerous.

My goodness! The detoxing process is frightening! I took an out-of-town job last year where I COULDN'T drink and didn't have the severe issues. My blood pressure was high but I think that was me being overweight (I did lose 55lbs!) and I got my BP somewhat back in check. I had alot of trouble sleeping. I always have. My noggin won't shut up. I thought about getting Lunestra but I dunno. Thanx everyone for your help. I'm gonna get off here for awhile. BBL!

Hi,
ya detoxing is everything we don't want to know about ourselves as we go through it, but the more you stay with it the faster it gets better. And it's gonna get better. keep checkin' in and letting us know how your doing.

Hi ...

The best thing about de toxing is
you never have to do it again.

Welcome to your sober life
