Over my lifetime I have lived in many of our states, partly from my daddy's job changes and partly from being married to Air Force and partly from Alkie Geographics, lol.

I have lived here in NM since 1989 and LOVE IT. It is almost my "ideal" place to spend the rest of my life and it probably is where I will, unless.......................................I can get my health a wee bit better (enough so for a very big move) and then I would move in an instant to:

Alice Springs, Australia

Yes, my friends down under, that is where I REALLY WANT TO BE. I long to return there, very BADLY, and if HP is willing, I just might yet!

It's desert, but it does get it's 'rainy' season. There are wonderful stations (ranches) outside of town, where you can find sheep, camels, and Arabian Horses. Yes, many of the camels in Saudia Arabia today come from stations around Alice Springs. Also, they have some of the most beautiful Arabians I have ever seen.

Alice itself is about 32,000 people with all the amenities and ROOM. Even in town, the houses have ROOM between them.

Of Course, I have ALWAYS loved Australia. It is a country about the size of the US but has a total population a little over 21 million. We here in the US are now way over 300 million.

So, maybe, just maybe I'll make it. I have all the paperwork completed and have my 'retirement visa.' I have the paperwork at my vets for the dogs, so that should this come true it will be current and ready to go, so my dogs will be quarantined right on the property I would be living on outside of Alice. Oh yes, extensive work has been done. It just may happen, we'll see.

Oh did I mention? Alice is right on the edge of the Outback (no man's land) roflmao and I just absolutely love that!!!!

Don't think I'm antisocial. lol Just love space, hate crowds, have always been a country girl at heart!

So here I am for now in New Mexico. Climate is close to Alice's a bit dryer and a bit colder in the winter, about the same in the summer.

Nice thread Rowan!!!!

Love and hugs,

Gawd, dunno, would have to ask the old man. Pretty sure we left immediately and stayed at my Mom's parents, my Dad was in the RAF stationed in Northern Ireland when he met my Mom. Born in a hospital called Robroyston. My Dad and I meet for lunch every Wednesday, will ask him for some particulars tomorrow.

Hey..I live off exit 8... I 87 upstate.
I hate bugs. We got a butt load of wood chucks too. They are a little bit of a pain in the ass. Especially when your trying to grow vegetables.
But I will take wood chucks over bugs anyday.

20 minutes outside of Hartford, CT towards Boston. I guess you could say I'm right in between Hartford and Boston. I live in an old mill town. I spent the first 7 or 8 years of my life in Albany NY. We still have a family reunion there every summer.

Ct is really really expensive. I don't live in the tony section of the state!

Hartford is noted to be the most boring city in America. Insurance capital.

It's currently wicked hot here..but I don't mind it a bit!

I'd love to be able to live on the RI shore at some point.

Took me a while to get into it actually John, which I guess is surprising as I was surrounded by football (soccer) growing up; didn't get really into it until my late teens.

Think I heard something about the Canadian GP on the news, have been following Lewis Hamilton's career since he's been doing so well (as a British driver) - shame he crashed out of that one but he did well to win in Monaco.

I never got into football myself, which amazes some people in this country because Liverpool is a big football city.
Don't like F1 much either, I used to like watching motorbike racing as a kid-around the Barry Sheen and Kenny Roberts era and watched some Moto GP a while ago but I am not big on hobbies/interests, was always too drunk/stoned. It's a shame really.

Hamiltons manager is his Dad, they showed the reaction shot, he was not a happy man. About a half-dozen cars came in to pit at the same time when the safety car came out, Kubica and Raikkonen stopped side by side at the end of pit out, red light was on, Hamilton must not have noticed and tried to swerve, ended up taking out himself and Kimi, never did see the reaction shot from Kimi, he must have been beside himself.

oh, great thread, Rowan
lets see.born in Charlottetown, P.E.I. and presently living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada..the capital of Canada
ridiculously hot and humid in the summer and long cold winters.
just came back from hardware store with box fan in tow, sooo humid here this week, sweating up a storm, but funnily enough after a week of it , you adjust and the profuse sweating starts to feel kinda good

just had a thunderstrorm a moment ago, brought a bit of cool air.. hmm, blessed relief!
