I have been looking around the site and trying to figure it all out.
I just wanted to say "Hello" and I am glad to be here. I have been reading posts regarding being a "Functional alcoholic" and I guess that is where I have been although still doing everything I need to do. I have been without a drink for only four days but this is the longest I have gone in I don't remember when. Looking forward to support and keeping this going one day at a time.

Thank you to everyone for welcoming me! This is day 5 and it is FRIDAY! Why is this day so scary! It's not like I waited until Friday to have a drink. I had one, two or three every night! Fortunatley, I haven't gone through any major withdrawal symptoms other than fatigue and slight jumpy nerves. I just have to constantly refocus my thoughts on other things I could be doing besides sitting and drinking. This forum has been very helpful with all that everyone has shared. I look forward to reading more throughout the coming weeks.

Welcome Happydays88!! Glad you have joined us here. Pull up a chair and stay awhile. The weekends are hard because, well, they're the weekends. I still have a hard time on Fridays and Saturdays, but I pretty much partook every evening also. I, like you, was very functional. I just wasn't happy. Glad you posted and can't wait to hear more from you.

Welcome to the site! I'm at the end of day two and strengthening my resolve to never have to start over again. You'll find lots of experience, strength, and hope here from the members all over the world. We are scattered far and wide but all have the same problem of addiction.
