...My boyfriend and I split...
I'm sorry it didn't work out...but someone will, one day. Listen to an old man LOL.
and you know as well as I that drinking won't do anything much but leave you with a sore head and a mess to clean up tomorrow.
Dump the rest, R. Seriously.

I too am sorry your love did not work out to your benefit.
Sometimes our timing is just not right for long term romances.
Please quit drinking it only magnifies a difficult time.
Be as safe as possible...please don't drink and drive.

I am sorry you are going through this, I am going through the same thing, it is a terrible feeling.....please, stop drinking, we can not heal if we don't feel the pain. Cry and cry, then get up, and force yourself to live....I keep telling myself the same thing, it gets a little better each day, a few less tears, a little more sleep......it will be okay if you take care of yourself...

sorry to hear you're going through similar stuff Cathy
but you're right I reckon (and I have a lot of experience feeling like this ) - we *need* to feel sad, and to go through feeling sad, in order to move on...drinking just delays that process, and brings in a whole other world of problems as well.
thanks for a great post Red
Please listen b2b

This may actually be the opportunity you needed. You can now focus all your energy and effort on recovery, if that's what you want, are you done yet?
If so, many folks here who work various programs of recovery are more than willing to support you. However, if you aren't done, there is nothing any of us can do but pray. If you are interested in AA I can get you in touch with some strong women. Stay safe, stay alive.

Please tell me that you're not waiting for the perfect life before you quit for good! You're in for a long wait and a lot of drinking because it will never happen.
That's what support groups are for. They help us to learn to deal with life and what life throws at us. Either that or we run and hide in a bottle every time life feeds us a Turdburger.

I can only echo what the others have said. The perfect life doesn't exist, but drinking for sure will not find it. Please be strong for yourself, and as was said, surround yourself with friends.
