AA chip for 120 days?
AA chip for 120 days?
Does anyone know if you get a chip in AA for 4 months? I never hear them ask anyone if they have 4 months. "They say, 1, 2 or 3 months? A year or multiples of years?" I just realized a second ago that tomorrow is my 120th day sober! Whoa! That counts as 4 months right?
I'm having a little party for myself tomorrow even it it doesn't get marked officially with a chip. I already know what kind of cake I'm gonna make. I dreamt about it the other day: A chocolate cake with banana cake lightly swirled in with cream cheese frosting. Yummm. I'll save you all a piece!

Thanks guys!!! I'm digging all the cheer!! And now I won't feel silly at my meeting tomorrow night by standing up and asking for a 4th month chip. But I will definately be celebrating inside all day. And the cake! The cake! (Jeeplady, expect a piece when I see you tomorrow!)
Thanks! I love this site.

I would submit the consideration that EVERY day sober is a milestone for an alcoholic and nothing short of a miracle.
That being said I know many groups that offer chips in 1-12 month increments. My advice, don't place your faith in objects.
Not all groups celebrate monthly birthdays for less than one year sober time. The AA group at the detox center where I lived for 2 weeks does, however...and since I have been going to those meetings..even after getting out..I do plan on getting a 4 month chip there. True--coins don't keep you sober--but they sure do help me remember about all the hard work I've done..plus getting a chip from there would definitely have alot of meaning>since that was a turning point in my recovery. :ghug3
CONGRATULATIONS ON 4 MONTHS MLE!!!
This is the best I could do on such short notice.
By all means stand up and share your milestone at your meeting.
When I was in prison, I chaired many meetings. My one Sponsee took a pop can, cut the bottom off and scratched "one year" and suprised me with it on my One Year Anniversary. I still have that token from long ago.
What I'm trying to get at is that it doesn't matter what you celebrate with, as long as it's not alcohol!
By the way, you can order a 4 month token on line.
Congratulations again and God Bless,
Judy
