One month today
I've been in and out of the program for several years; however, I have never in my life actually worked the program with such hunger and fervor. I have never given myself wholly to my Higher Power until now. I got out of rehab on May 2nd and have made a meeting (sometimes two) every day since then. I feel like I am a baby coming into a new world who knows nothing and find myself with no answers of my own. I also have a healthy fear of going out into the real world so green. I am simply using the tools that are being given to me and doing what I am told by my sponsor as well as taking the advice of recovering alcoholics in my home group who seem to know my story without even having heard it.
I need all the support I can get at this point as the only alcoholics I allow myself to be subject to at this point are the ones in my home group. My friends outside the group are all non-alcoholics and talking with them helps, but they have to real way of truly understanding what I am going through. My sponsor turned me on to this site and I hope to gain more friends through here that I can share with and have as a support system.
I'll stop rambling now....I have to go shower and get ready to go to the noon meeting. I am excited to be picking up my one month chip. It has been the most interesting, frightening, wonderful hope filled month I have ever experienced....it was also very long. lol.
Thanks for listening to the ramblings of a madwoman. I hope to hear from you soon.

Christina there is a lot of good support here, if you keep doing what you are doing right now you should do well, what you are doing is what I did to end a 40 year drinking career.
Congrats on one month!!! Keep in mind that it works if you work it, half measures availed us nothing.

Gratitude
Thank you all for your warm welcome and sincere replies. I am very grateful to have found SR, people who I can identify with and people who identify with me. What a blessing!
