Day 2 Sober Ramble

Feel silly posting on day 2 but quite proud of self as did running race and usually cut back before then get traaassssssssssshhhhhhhhed to celebrate.
Sort of in reverse this time. Had 3 day bender where I mostly sat in armchair only getting up to walk to bottlestore and get more wine. Tried all sort of clever tricks (broke wine glasses, bought red instead of white, ate chocolate) and some not even-trying-to-be-clever tricks (drinking at 3am, sleeping through alarm for important meeting, driving to work toasted and sobering up around hometime - when went out for a couple and then drove home to...repeat).
Yesterday could not/did not drink as had race today and alcohol gives me major IBS (not pretty when running!) and despite stressful evening with houseguests from hell, I got up today, ran/walked half marathon, stopped on way home for tea and scones (!) and am now sipping powerade while typing this.

Am on day 2 as well after a bender. That half marathon would sure help to sweat the alcohol toxin from your body.

Glad to know you are starting a sober life.
Do you have a plan on how to stay sober?

Wow. I can't imagine doing a half marathon, or even a 5K while drinking, or hungover!!! That tells me that you are resiliant! It's amazing what we can put our bodies through, and they keep on going....Good for you!!!:bounce

Am trying to get up nerve to go to AA meeting this week.
Am planning to exercise so much I want to go to bed early each night, then up early, doing proper stuff at work (am so sure they suspect, although boss just laughed when I slept through alarms twice in fortnight).
Am telling friends how much I have been drinking and how I want to stop. (One friend of similar habits is joining me)
Am going to telephone one friend every evening (I live alone - apart from dogs)
And it is 6am and off for very slow walk with my dogs.

All suggestions welcome.
