Hi, my name is zhiavony, this is my first poast. I have an addiction problem, I am hooked on my ADHD meds. I take more that the Doctor precribes. I am also a childhood surviver of rape and severe trauma. I started using things to change the way I feel at the age of 5. Self medicating. I also have Bi-Polar disorder. And I am also going through an extremely stressful court case and I feel like I'm going to loose it any moment. I never do good under too much stress. This court case has been going on for 3 years now and I can't see an end. I am signed up to see a rape and trauma counsler on the 20th, but I think I need to start addressing my drug abuse problem right now. But I don't know how to take controll of it. I'm scared. Will anybody answer me please.

You have begun to take steps...that is great. Calling and getting a dr. appt. as soon as possible would be a great idea. If you are honest with him/her, he/she can help you figure out from a physical view how to deal with your possible addictions. this is really important.
Coming here is great to as we can give you emotional support.

I moved your thread into the Newcomers forum so you could get a proper welcome.
I am glad that you are getting help for the trauma you have been through. I think that will really help with your recovery. It's good that you are seeking help with your drug problem. It would be a good idea to start with being honest with your dr about the medication you are taking.
I hope you feel at home here and keep reading and posting.

Welcome Zhiavony - it's so nice to meet you - you'll find many friends here. I'm so sorry for what you've had to go through in your life, but there can & will be a better day. As Ananda said, you have taken the first step towards getting well, & that took courage.
