Allow me to introduce myself Hi, My name is Keith and I'm just starting out into the land of sobriety. I am usually a very pleasant and out-going person. However, I have a huge problem with binge-drinking since the age of 15 (I'm 39 now). I have a wife and family I love, but have made some terrible decisions and found myself completely out of control, to the point that I fear I may lose what I hold most precious. I am an expat Brit living in California. Unfortunately I have no-one close enough that I feel I can talk to or confide in. So hopefully here I can get some encouragement and advice. Thank you Keith |
Welcome from a fellow newbie. I hope we both find what we seek. All the best to you. |
Welcome! You found a good place here. Good people and very active. You are in no way unique (aside from being a Brit and living in LA LA). Read some of the threads and you will recognize yourself. warren |
Welcome to SR, there is a lot of recovery on this board!! Cathy |
Welcome Keith!! I too was a binge drinker...freedom comes when you learn to let go. You need to do this for you...it is an awesome adventure sobriety....remember your not alone! |
Thanks for the support everyone. And so quick too. One thing I'm looking forward to is watching the show instead of being the show. |
LOL...I like that...watching the show instead of being the show. You are moving in the right direction...stay on course and life will reveal itself to you! |
I agree. Who needs to add drama where drama occurs naturally? |
Hi Keith, Ah the drama - I don't miss it at all! Welcome and I'm glad you found us. |
Good to see you here with us..Welcome! :) |

Welcome to SR Kmill, lots of good folks here and some good sobriety here as well. Grab a cup of tea, pull up a chair, and chat a while. |
