Today makes 6 months!
It's been a while since I have posted and I wanted to give an update. Today makes 6 months that I have been alcohol and cigarette free. My life has changed in so many wonderful ways... I am more patient and focused at work, more involved with friends and family... I've met a great guy who also doesn't drink (he's been there, too), and I'm all around just happier. I laugh more... I can think clearly... and I'm more positive about my life and where I am heading.

To those who are struggling, keep pushing forward. It WILL get easier. Give it a chance...

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten.

So, what would you say was the single most important key to getting to the six-month mark?

For me, it was (and still is) remembering WHY I'm doing this, and building on that each day... knowing that even "just one" will bring me back down and down even farther than I was. Knowing that this could be my last chance... and what if I couldn't do it again? I didn't want to find out.
