The elephant in the room
Anyone ever get the feeling that even though the whole family knows whats up, nobody does anything about it?
I've been dealing with my A brother for five years. He seems to be close to death or disaster now. In spite of my family's inter-state phone calls and constant updates.... NOTHING has changed. We all have our brilliant ideas about what SHOULD happen, but no one is ready to pull the trigger (i.e. call his probation officer or the police, when it's really bad).
I hate it.

Barb is right - you're never alone. You have us to talk to and share with and let out your frustrations. You may also find help in the "friends and families" of alcoholics forum. :ghug

schtevof call his probation officer and talk to the officer.
I had the exact thing happen to me 91 days ago. My PO made it clear I would go to jail the next time I violated.
schtevof today I have 90 days of sobriety. I am so grateful today, life is much better then it was before my relative called and I am not mad at her.
Sometimes us alcoholics need a fire under our butts before we get serious.
Good luck schtevog.
