I have no idea what I'm doing

Im new at this and like many, Im sure, I have no idea what i'm doing. I guess that its pretty represintitive of this point in my life. I just reciently joind AL-ANON and am feeling pretty good about the whole thing. I found this sight because right about now I want to find out as much as I can. Which is somthing else I just realized. I have for years used education to distance myself form my issues, form my alcoholic father, and from life. I studied these things to better understand them and therfor to be in more control of them. ANd being out of control scares the hell out of me. I have always known that I am effected by the addicts in my life but I never realized the severaity of it. I think Im just babbling now. I am not even sure what the point of my doing this is (or if I'm even doing it right) but I figure I'll give it a chance.

Hopefully you find the experience, strenght, hope, and support I have here at SR.

Feel free to check out our friends and families of alcoholics forum, there are a lot of people there who have been through similiar experience to yours.

Welcome VeraLynn!

Do you think you have a problem with alcohol or drugs yourself? You are in the right place if you do.

Al-anon is great if you are suffering from dealing with someone who is an addict alcoholic. And some of us can be in both rooms. For ourselves and for the ones we love, or once loved and hurt us.

Welcome, welcome...may you find peace in your future.
