Cravings attack...
Can you think your way through it? Like they say in AA, the first drink is just the engine and it ain't the engine that kills you. Think through the times you've drank and what the moral hangover was (that's what my friend calls it.) Instead of remembering the drink, remember the consequences of drinking and how they got you where you are now. And don't romanticize or minimize! That's cheating.
You can do it. Many have come before you and been able to stay sober. You too can do it.

Battle report:
All of yesterday's cravings shot down by using good tips from SR and AA (thanks for help!)...
The good ship "Sobriety" is still intact. Crew getting a bit battle weary, but no alcohol consumed and no casualties...
Standing down from red alert... until this evening...

Perhaps have a plan ready. Go to a movie, have some treats at hand, write an old friend. Something that totally occupies the mind and neurology.
You'll make it! The intensity of the cravings diminishes over time. Instead of your baby crying, it's more like someone else's baby crying. You hear it, but no longer need to attend to it.

I'm having some cravings too. the way I beat them is to think 'hard' of all the negative things about drinking. I keep conjuring up a mental picture of my last withdrawal... and sure enough, that makes the cravings less intense.
