Sorry he's so big.

I just was too excited that I got it on here that I'm not about to mess with it trying to make it smaller.

Anyway, here's Tabs, aka Fuzzy Butt!

A cool thread

Serenity, I can so relate to not wanting to mess with success....I would never have learned to do this if I hadn't wanted to post my kids photos. Tabs is beautiful!!

Katz, let's schedule a playdate - maybe we could meet somewhere between MI and MD?

I suffered 2 pet deaths this past year. MY dog died on Dec. 19th and my cat died on Feb. 18th. :-(

Recently we got a black long haired kitten. We named him Thomas and he is a sweetheart. :-)

As soon as my son gets back from college May 17th we are going to get a new puppy. :-)

I had to put my Shepheard down this afternoon. She was 15 going on a million. We used to call her Methesula......but her real name was "Emmie".

It was tough. I cried.

The good news about sobriety is that you get your feelings back.

The bad news about sobriety is that you get your feelings back.

But, I wasn't selfish. She could no longer walk, or hear, or see. I couldn't keep her around just because I didn't want to see her put down.

Sorry to hear about that.

Here is something I read, hope you can find some comfort in it...

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done
For this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
Don't let the grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stand the test.

We've had so many happy years,
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
When the time comes, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And stay with me, if you can, to the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time, you will see,
It is a kindness you do for me.
Although my tail its last was waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Don't grieve that it should be you,
Who must decide this thing to do,
We've been so close, we two, these years;
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Smile, for we walked together for a little while.

RK - thanks for a great thread.

SQ - wow, I thought my cats were the only ones who laid like that

GP - I'm so sorry about Emmie, but you did the most unselfish and loving thing you could do.

Hugs and prayers!

this is a cute thread!
i had a crazy springer spanial and a kind of parrot when i was a boy.
now i don't have any pets because i'm not allowed to keep animals in my appartment although i'd like another dog - a german sheepard or a labrador perhaps
my grandparents have a dog. he's called Bobby and he's only got 3 legs, but he's a cuttie. he has such a nice personality. I often play with him when i go to my grandparents.

Wanna hear a funny?

I thought that my dog Chili was the first pet Ive ever had. Ive always said I didnt have any pets growing up....my mom was not an animal lover.
LOL...my dad tells me the other day that we did in fact have a dog when I was about 2 or 3.
My dad, while walking home from the bar all plastered one night, sees this dog tied up in somebody's yard. He thought it would be a good idea to untie the dog and bring him home as a gift to me.
He came home with it, woke me up, got me all excited!
My mom was horrified because 1. He STOLE the dog and 2. He couldnt remember where he stole it from.
Apparantly we had the dog for 3 or 4 days until the lost dog signs went up in the neighborhood and my dad returned him.

Might get a picture on here one of these days. Do have a picture of my dog in my profile album pictures.

I have a Boxer, two bearded dragons and 3 birds.

Yeah, Bearded Dragons eat crickets, so I get to hear that all day. he he

My Shiba (on the left) was a rescue from a rescue group and the Beagle came from our Humane Society. Rescue dogs are great because you know you've given them a whole new life to enjoy.

Does anyone else have dogs who love fruits and vegetables? My dogs love most veggies and also love bananas, apples, watermelon, mandarin oranges...

I really enjoy looking at other people's pets. Just knowing that those pets share your lives and your love gives me a warm happy feeling. All companion animals should be so fortunate.

don't give your dogs grapes or raisins - it'll kill 'em. for real!
