I would find it very difficult, at this point, to differentiate what is a disorder, and what is the result of withdrawal.
While drinking and withdrawal, many of us exhibit symptoms very much like various psychiatric disorders. PAWS (don't know that much about it) may well be the issue.
I've had issues with anxiety and depression throughout my life, but since becoming sober, they have diminished considerably.
I hope that will soon be the same for you.

Does any of this sound familiair ?
We were having trouble with personal relationships, we couldn't control our emotional natures, we were a prey to misery and depression, we couldn't make a living, we had a feeling of uselessness, we were full of fear, we were unhappy, we couldn't seem to be of real help to other people
Eqlibrium,
Didn't you mention in another post that you were also using smoke? If you are still using that, maybe that's part of the problem?
I have a brother who went from being a very, very hardcore alcoholic to smoking all day, every day but no more drinking. (He says he's sober now even though he's smoking - I just try to keep myself from confusing it as my issue.) But at any rate, he seems to experience many of the symptoms you named.
Having a hard time peeing is something you should see a doctor about.
I know the anxiety is strange to have if you are smoking since you would think it would be calming. But I just know what I see in my brother. Not trying to give any medical advice or anything. And also, of course, maybe you're not even smoking and this is all useless info.
Good luck and hang in there.

I think it was you who said in another thread your smoking marijunana. In which case I'd assume the grass is making you more anxious.
I've never smoked much because it doesn't seem to effect me. Some days I'd try smoking 10 or 15 joints but I still couldn't get stoned.
But from what my stoner friends tell me if you smoke marijuana when you're relaxed it makes you more relaxed. If you smoke it when you're anxious it makes you more anxious. If you smoke it when you're tired it will make you more tired. ect. etc.
I still think you should talk to a doc though.

Panic Disorders
Every human being has a mechanism built into us called a fight or flight response. It is what prepares us for great moments of stress, such as a fight, or confrontation of some type. Panic disorders are simply a malfunction of this system. Your system for whatever reason will flood your body with adrenaline for no particular reason. This can occur during drug or alcohol withdrawal or be completely independent. Visiting your doctor and have a good chat with him or her would probably be a good start. There are some good medicines out there now to combat panic disorders. Exercise and a good diet are also a plus. I have post traumatic stress disorder and used to have panic attacks frequently, so I know how uncomfortable they can be. I hope this works out for you in a timely manner and remember they are not really dangerous, they just make you feel like crap. I used to find a good brisk walk following one helpful, helps to work off the excess adrenaline out of the body. I hope this helps you.

NIMH · Anxiety Disorders
I’d read the info linked to above, but I’d see a doctor too – a specialist that is also familiar with alcoholism. Panic attacks can lead to more serious trouble. I'd also eliminate caffeine if you haven't already.
Glass has a point. It’s relatively early in your recovery to rule out that what you are feeling is normal emotional stuff that goes with recovery (that will pass with time). That’s why a doctor familiar with alcoholism is likely your best bet.
