New guy here

Hello everybody. I found this forum when I googled weed recovery. Thought I would join to see how things go and maybe meet some other people that are trying to better their lives. I have been smoking pot for about 20 years. Heavy user for a good 10 years. I smoked an oz a week easy. I decided its time to quit so that I can get a better job for my family. Ive only been clean 2 days but its a start.

Thank you for the welcomes. I forgot to add that I am also a recovering meth addict. Never injected it, but smoked it daily for 6 years. I was very sick without it. Ive been clean from meth for 3 years now. I figure if I can quit meth cold turkey I can quit smoking weed too. Meth was really hard for me to quit, Im hoping weed will be a little easier. Cigs will be next. Thanks for the warm welcomes.

Congratulations on deciding to quit toking your life away. I spent many years smoking weed but moved on to opiates which I am now recovering from. You will definitely find support and caring folks on this site. I was in a pretty rough state my first week on here and made some long, rambling, pretty insane posts. Everyone was very supportive and I have been fortunate to have made a few great friends on here.

Keep up the good work my fiend. Keep posting and vent when you need to. It truly helps.

Peace

Howdy and welcome to SR

I never did meth but i'm sure people that can relate will be along. I did smoke weed years ago.

It sounds great that you want to make some changes for the good. Glad to see you here.

Great job! You can't have 3 days of recovery until you get through the 1st 2 days! I hope your third day is fantastic!

Wow!! Thanks for all the support everybody. I had a really hard time getting to sleep last night, then when I finally fell asleep I kept waking up every hour on the hour. And had some pretty weird dreams too. Woke up with a splitting headache that wont go away no matter how many advil I pop. Today was the hardest day for me yet. I seem to be pissed off at just about everything. Im staying with it though. I hope it gets better.
