Back to the 1st 24 Hours again
 

I just relapsed after 2 months sober which is my longest period since I took my 1st drink way back in college. My main trigger seems to be any free time that I may have which I have been trying to fill with AA meetings and a 2 year rehab program.

Before the most recent 2 months I was sober just over a month. Is this common for a person to have a few false starts?

I know I have had quite a few.
Alot of people do.
Free time can be a killer.

Yes...I too went in and out of early sobriety often.

Then I read a book....
"under The Influence"

Took that information....re connected with God and AA
and have not had another drink.

I found the part about liver and brain enzymes
especially helpful.

I can't remember how many relapses I've had since the first of the year. now I'm on day six and feeling better. Yes I've been told that many of us have quite a few false starts when we stop drinking. The only thing that matters is that you get up and try again. TAke it one day at a time.

Like they said, all that means is that you get to start again. Life is always about starting over in many areas of our lives. This one is definitely important enough to be worth another try.
