Me = 90 Days, Cat = 2 Years
So I told my wife that I hit 90 days sober today. I was kind of expecting her to organize some kind of gala event...a parade maybe . Without missing a beat she said, "hey, it's that cat's birthday today...you can celebrate with him !"
My wife has never had an alcohol/addiction problem (unless you count being married to me). For that, I am so grateful. She just expects me to be sober - a very reasonable expectation. And she believes in me. Gotta love that lady!
I think I'll take the cat out for some ice cream...

When I do the right things and expect no return, I tend to get more then I give every time.
I hear they hold a nice parade on Founder's Day in Ohio *LOL*
Congrats to you. Meow to da cat!
I've shared this before on SR, but here it goes again:
In the fall of 2005, when I had a few months into my Recovery, I wanted a kitten. A little fuzzball to love and hold. I figured I was responsible enough now to take care of a cat. I found a woman who had kittens and had to go pick out only one out of the litter. I wanted them all but I had to beg and plead with my Landlord for one. As I was walking out the door, I asked Marcia if she knew my new kitty's birthday, she went into the other room to check and came back out and said, "July 25" I couldn't believe it. July 25 is my Sobriety/Surrender Date.
