Unhappy joined today

I've said I'd try to get help, or that I would just quit drinking, but it's just gotten worse and worse. Im going to lose my family and probably drink myself to death, so this is my first step. This whole website thing is new to me, my girls wont let me have a "myspace". I need help, I dont want to live like this anymore, tired of the lies, the blackouts. Im a slave to the bottle. My life is a half a life, and I want the rest back, but Im so scared. Im sitting here at the computer crying...Im embarassed, and embarassing.

Welcome!

You've taken a giant step by seeking us out. Get comfortable and read a bit. Write a bit.

We've all been through shame and helplessness. Part of the package. But as you will learn, it can be overcome.

We have choices each and every day what to do with our lives.

The wrong choices causes us pain and misery.

Hoping, you're going to make the wise choice and do something about your drinking

It does and will get worse the longer you drink

Hey Lostgirl

Don't forget that we are all lost in this world and we do not know what the pass of this world will look like tommorow...I t maybe ruff or it maybe the most beautifull pass you've ever experienced and if you,ve dug a hole so deep in that pass the only way for you to get out is to look up way up and to give yourself to god and to ask him to find you and to guide you on the rest of the past so that you dont get lost anymore.

Believe me I've been their
and thats what god taught me
God Bless Mike

I can so understand about being a slave. I lived as a slave for over 15 years. Now I have been clean and sober over a year. You too can have peace and serenity. Please keep posting. You never have to be alone again.

Welcome to SR!

I know how you feel. I am almost 3 months sober now, and I tell you what - I'm still scared, but I have hope, and that's something I haven't had for a long time.

keep reading and posting, and don't feel too embarrassed - we've all been there, every single one of us. You can have your life back, if you want it. It's yours, and you will feel better if you stop drinking, I promise you that.

Everyone has to start with day one. You can do this. Seek out support if need be. You'll find lots of it here. You've already made a start.

Thinking of you,

GL

Hi!
Welcome! You've come to a good place if you're in need of some help. The people on here are great and often have allot of good advice and wisedom to share. You'll be in good company.

In my humble oppinion myspace probably wouldn't be of much help to you. Myspace is a social-networking site. Sober Recovery (SR) is a proper resource for alcoholics and addicts where we share advice and try to help each other out. On myspace it's unlikly you would find anybody who'd be of much help to you as the vast majority of people are just looking for friends on sites like myspace and bebo and facebook - of course friends can be made on here as well
Have you thought about trying out an A.A. meeting?

Alcoholism is an illness. It's nothing to be ashamed about. Would you be ashamed if you had diabities or cholesterol!? Don't be affraid to ask for help. Talk to your family, doctor, or friends. Post you're feelings and read what others are dealing with on here.

Let us know how you're doing. Take care.
