hi im new

hello im new to the site and i am struggling with recovery. i am addicted to pain pills but my problem is that i have fibromyalgia and need to take tramadol for the pain. if i dont take them my pain is so severe that i cant function. i was an addict way before becoming diagnosed with fibromyalgiaand now i feel even more hopeless. i just need help on what to do

Hi heyopstack, welcome to SR. I've heard that fibromyalgia is very painfull. Hopefully someone with it or knows about it will be along shortly to suggest somthing to help you.

Welcome to SR, and have you tried a pain clinic? They often have other ways of relieving pain and you can often find ones that have experience dealing with addicts.

Hi and Welcome,

Welcome and I'm sorry for your problem.

I have fibromyalgia too and it took a few painful years before I got it figured out. It was one of the things that led me to drinking, because I just couldn't get any sleep otherwise.

I don't use painkillers for fibro. I changed my lifestyle and it made a big difference for me. I have strengthened my body with yoga and weight-training and it's really helped. I was blessed enough to be able to work part-time instead of full-time and above all, I learned to say No.
