Hi!

Hello,

My name is Teresa and I'm a 23 year old recovering alcoholic living in California. My sober b-day is February 19th, 2008. I had been trying to get sober all last year, to no avail. I drank myself into detox on October 11, 2007. I had 90 days sober, and then relapsed because I "couldn't" do it anymore. Truthfully, I just gave up because I didn't have anything to love in my sober life. I have a lot of things that I love now just by being present, and I think that's one of the greatest gifts to give yourself in getting sober. Just being.
Anyway, thanks for having me!

xo

Hi Teresa,

Just 'being' is one of the hardest things in the world to do, and yet it's a great way to live.

hello and welcome to the forum. there are, apparently, many reasons to stay. for me the reason to get sober was because i was a sick alki & had to drink to function. my epidermis was bruising all the time & my eyes were sunset red 24/7, plus my depression was a good gracious. staying sober is morer tufferer for surer.

Glad to have you join us.
Your finding the right answers at a good age. I was about 23 when I first started on this path as well. Life sure is better this way.

Again...Welcome

Yeah, Teresa, isn't it cool?

Guess what? It gets even better. Go to sleep knowing you have some friends that you don't even know about.

In 3 weeks, I have tons. It has made my recovery more than doable. Read, listen, write. Not a bad prescription.

Hi Teresa, welcome to S.R. I am currently 5 weeks sober- and a younger female like you- 20 yrs old. I got 2 months sobriety last year - from sept to dec. I relapsed though - mainly due to denial and not accepting i had alcoholism- however this time round it's a lot better for me as i can fully accept this.
It's great to see other youngens here- as 'tellus' said!
Glad you are enjoying your sobriety - me too(most of the time lol- but its always a progression)! :)
