Starting Over Trying To Stay Strong
I am new to recovery in the sense that it is for me. After a 10 year marriage of trying to save my husband from alcohol and drug abuse I find myself wit the attitude if you can beat them join them. Next thing I know I am using the point system on a regular basis and hooked. Chasing, Running, and making poor choices just to get a pill to bang or some speed to shoot. I struggle with chronic pain but look fo rother methods to releif. I am homeless staying with realitives have 12 year old diabetic son who is truely the world and it bout time I give it back to him. He has seen his mom crumble and fall slowly and that hurts. I just am looking for some support and guidance to help foucus on staying clean and working through all the codependecy issues fed into me using.
Thanks

Please check out my reply to your other thread. Welcome to SR.
As far as your homeless problem goes there are options of sober housing available. One of those is called Oxford Housing. It is clean and sober housing for people in recovery. I have met several women who utilized it in early recovery until they could get back on their feet.
As far as your using because "if you can't beat them join them", I can understand the frustration of living around someone who is using. That is why I recommend finding sober housing. Your husband has to make his own choices of whether or not to use. It sounds to me though that you are tired of the life that addiction/drug abuse brings. There are solutions, but the key to those solutions is standing up and following through with them. Pick up the phone and not only call one of the recovery places in the link on your other thread and then put one foot in front of the other and get yourself to the recovery program. You can do this but no one can do it for you.
Take care and please let us know how you are doing.

Hi Lady,
Welcome!
You can make the changes you need in order to turn your life around.
You might also check with the Salvation Army in your area if you're looking for help with housing and recovery.
