What will you do for your sobriety today?

What we have is a daily reprieve......
Each day is a gift, something that must be worked for. We cannot rest on our laurels as are addictions are lying in wait.

What will you do for your sobriety today?

Glad to see you've got a good attitude about recovery at a young age

Hey 29.

2 things for my sobriety today.

1) Not drink.

2) post here.

That's all that I have the energy for.

Thanks 29a. Everyday is a gift. Needed this reminder. Past few days have been tough but today is really quite good (so far but its still early):

Today, for my sobriety I will:

Attend an AA meeting this afternoon (probably a good day to just listen).
Talk to my sponsor, working on the 4th step.
Read/post on SR throughout the day.
Play with my kids.
Not argue with anyone (especially my wife).
Exercise.
Eat well.
Relax this evening.
Pray at the end of the day (already did this AM).

I am going to take a lot of big, deep breaths and lay around and watch TV with my little girls. I've got the flu bug, so I doubt I will have a craving today......but that is just today.

I guess I should answer myself since I started the thread.

This morning I had a great prayer session while driving to work. Prayed to have some defects removed. I work 10 hours today so I'll be doing alot of posting on the site. I'll call my sponsor at work to report in on some financial ammends I started. On my lunch break I'll call all a new fellow to check on him. Then at 10 going to a candle light meeting. It's a special meeting to me because it was the first one I ever went to, I don't get to go as often as I like. Then maybe hang out with some other sober kids, maybe not. Depends on how tired I am. Then my night time prayer, then off to bed for this booze hound.

Wow, I really didn't realize how full my days are. I guess you don't really notice until you pay attention.

And there not always like his, sometimes I ride the easy does it train straight to lazy station. Progress, not perfection ;-)

Try to eat well, avoiding sugar, since I read that sugar makes alcohol cravings worse.

This is what I did today

I got out of bed and hit my knees at 6 this AM, normally it's 5 AM so the extra hour was a gift. I asked God to guide my thoughts and actions, that I be blessed, and that I cause no harm.

I then went to my formal prayer and meditation room and said the Lord's prayer, slowly, savoring the words and the meaning. I then sat and just watched my breath, listening for guidance. I called a sponsee, and then worked on sanding a floor, I was at one with the power sander LOL, My sobriety and quality of my life is directly proportional to how much time I spend with God, I was with him today, as a result, the problem has been removed. I am safe and protected, It's a good deal, nice topic 29A.

I assure you it was all human power as my aching back and sore hands will attest to. God does not sand for me, what I can sand myself.
