Every Single Time!

Hi yall - I have been here at SR and been sober for a little while now, and something struck me yesterday that I have to mention. I read the Newcomers forum every day and every day someone (usually more than one) new comes on board and asks many of the same questions that were asked yesterday, last week, last month, last year, by me last summer...

And guess what? There are people here with YEARS of sobriety who are sharing their time and their stories every single time. I am very grateful to everyone here who continues to reach out to every single new comer. I would love to start naming names, but I am sure I would forget someone that deserves credit...but yall know who you are!

Thank you...every single time I read your stories, it helps me stay sober!

Yeah, i'm new here as well, not new to recovery. It's a great site and a great addition to my program.

One of the things that's caught my attention is that someone will post about how their life is in shambles, their world is collapsing, they just can't seem to quit etc. and then five minutes later they are posting on someone elses thread and sharing experience, strength and hope and offering encouragement.

It's a beautiful thing.

Jomey..That is so sweet for you to acknowledge the wonderful people who day after day DO freely support and encourage all of us here.
It takes special kind of people to be here day in and day out like that.So I too Thank all of you. New and not so new.
Lord knows I am one of the ones that some might say "This girl will never get it. Why bother."

All one needs do is remember the hand that was held out when I needed it.

"I am responsible ...whenever anyone anywhere reaches out - I want the hand of AA to be there - and for that - I am responsible."

I really believe that.
It's truly that simple.

Jomey, all I can do is agree with you. This site is awsome because the people here are awsome. That includes you.

Jomey I could not agree more..it is a great place to be.

When newcomers come and reading the same thing over and over it helps me to know that the path I choose for me is the right one...and pray they find theirs too!

 Jomey!

Jomey I want to thank you and every newcomer and old timer here as well.

Every one of you helps me to stay sober today, thanks.

All I do here is to hold out a hand just like other people did for me when I needed help.

I have learned that in order to keep what I have I need to give it away just as freely as it was given to me.

I'm actually a new comer as well but I don't like my very first post to be your traditional HI IM NEW, so here I am... Hi.

Astro 02-13-2008 11:17 AM

Thanks! Thanks! for starting this thread Jomey! I love it when the newcomers stick around and I hear about their successes and even their setbacks, cuz that's what keeps me sane and sober. It's also a reminder that no matter how much time I ever have, I'll always be a newcomer because it's one day at a time for me too.

A huge welcome to all the newcomers on this site!

Well said Astro, thanks-thanks for sharing! Great way to look at it that we all start off as newcomers every day. Love ya, Love ya, Jomey

Welcome to SR. Pull up a chair and stay a while.

I don't post as much as I did in the beginning, but I will always point to this place as what got me started on sobriety. God knows where I'd be if I hadn't stumbled onto this site.
