First day down, morning - day 2
SR families-
Encouraged by Carol, I went ahead to start my journey. (Thank you, Carol) Yesterday was my start day. I was worried about withdrawal symptoms as Carol warned, but I didn't want to give myself any more excuse to drink for the time would spend on making an appointment to get referral, finding a provider, another waiting and finding out how my insurance would cover the expenses, bla bla bla..
It was not as bad as I thought. Sleepiness, lack of energy, drowsiness, nausea, some vomiting and headache. Nothing major. However, I couldn't stop eating as if I was getting off cigs. Then became nausea, threw up.
Did anybody go through the same symptom? I guess it was my anxiousness to substitute alcohol with other oral contact, eating! Oh well, whatever it takes.. I might be turning into Bulimic!!!
Morning time is the most difficult since one or two beers in the morning gave me energy and to be awake from my meds.
It will be another long day! I am ready though...
Let's go find something to eat! LOL

You're doing great - I found I was a bit nauseous as well when I quit at first, without actually being sick or anything...
I actually eat less now than when I was drinking for some reason, no idea why; was always hungry when I was drinking and then when I tried to stop drinking I couldn't eat at all, just couldn't face any food as the withdrawals were so bad...
Keep up the good work, it really is worth it and you'll be feeling great before you know it...

Becky,
I'm on day 2 also! Congrats! I slammed enough liquor down every night to kill an elephant....
No upset tummy right now for me (knock on wood) but I'm a little bit shaky and last night I had awful sweating.
Go easy on your stomach, and good luck with the rest of your day!

Hang in there Becky, it gets better every day, the best advice I can give to you right now is to stay in the moment, do not worry about tonight or tomorrow, just take it one moment at a time, eventually it will reach one day at a time. Stick with the one day at a time.
Yesterday is gone, it can not be changed, tomorrow will never be here, today is all we can control.
