I Made It to Day 30!

Well, thanks to everyone who posted. I just got back from a long, long day of work, and it really made me feel awesome to see everyone excited for me and for our board.
I decided after reading your posts to do something else nice for myself: I'm going to give up a resentment I've had for a long time. I've had it towards a person and have had trouble letting it go. I'm going to do it for that person, but even moreso, I'm going to do it for me. And in gratitude for everyone's good wishes.

that reminds me -
I would buy myself 'sobriety gifts'...
when I was in AA years ago - I splurged and bought this really REALLY nice coffee mug for my first thirty. When I went back out - I put the mug in the back of the cabinet - and wouldn't let anyone use it, either, the whole time I was drinking.
When I came back to AA, I got that mug out ...
and used it and it only ... at my first thirty days again.
That was, until the kitten broke it.
So I glued it back together.
Now it sits prominently, holding sweetners in the cabinet.
*shrug*
the whole 'gifting myself' thing really helped my attitude.

Hey Positive Man!!~ I'm sooooooo sorry I missed the "official" hurrah -- but CONGRATULATIONS! I had no doubts you'd make it. You've been SUCH a great friend and inspiration.
