new and confused
 

hi, I've spent the last few days reading this fine forum you have here. It has been a lot of help.

I am an addict.
I broke up with my boyfriend (of 2 months) last thursday. At first I thought I was breaking up with him because he's been living with me (though he still has his own place) but hasn't paid any rent/utilities. Then it was because what started as a 'treat' on the weekend turned into smoking pot in my house all the time and I wanted him out.
It's becoming apparent that I needed him out because *I* am an addict and I can't stop using when he is around and supplying all the weed I need. I've been through this before and have never really looked at myself, just said we broke up because of HIS using.

before I broke up with him, I pinched some stash. This was very telling to me as I usually am a painfully honest person. now it's all been smoked. Luckily I don't have any sources.
This could be day 1...if I can bear to toss out the resin.

It's hard to be brutally honest when looking at ourselves, but it sure is a good starting point for you. Taking responsibility for your own actions in this problem, is a huge first step.

You don't sound confused to me....
:) You knew to dump a toxic guy.
You know smoking MJ is not going to
improve your future ...and ...you found us!

I wanted to add that this is the first relationship I have had since my son was born 5 years ago. of course it ended up being two co-dependent addicts! Also the first time I slipped into using compulsively since I'd got pregnant. It's a lot harder to get totally lost in the addiction when you have someone tugging at your pants leg to play with them.
