Admirable that you want to rid yourself of both addictions as soon as possible, but I agree it is too much at once - both mentally and physically. I have quite a bit of weight to lose (thank you, Coors Lite!) but I was even advised to postpone dieting until I was off alcohol. Anyway, I'm so glad you're back with us.

repeat after me...I am NOT superhuman, I am NOT superhuman...
That was one of the best pieces of advice I ever got here. And I still thank you for it

You'll make it...on both counts. I have no doubts.
But...bite size pieces Jules

I would work on the drinking first Jules. Of course I don't smoke so it's easy for me to say that. If the smoking cravings are stressing you and making the drinking cravings worse... well then... SMOKE a damn cigarette please!

* alternatively take one of those nicotine patches and put it over your mouth. That may help IMO.

Thanks guys. And yeah-one thing at a time right?

LOL Gyps-but yeah-drinking first.(ty for making me laugh too-needed that!)

I'm so impatient(how surprising for an alcoholic-lol) I guess I just wanted to get it all over with in one blast. But no.

I appreciate the thoughts and the support

Just one thing at a time!! 2 things are totally overwhelming to do at the same time. Hevyn, gyps, and D are all right!!! Just focus on the drinking thing for now. That is tough enough as it is. Just like D says, you are not superhuman... so just take it easy on yourself for now and kick the drinking first.

I agree with Gyps.

I smoke too and was going to wait until I was 12 months sober before trying to quit...but then I drank after 6 months sober, it was only 2 days though so I am still planning on quitting smoking in 6 months time.

I dont like to sound like a pessimist but both at the same time sounds too hard to me.
