My wife told me about this site and it seems really good. I am currently in recovery program and attending AA but just relapsed after 50 days sober. I feel like I am back at square 1 and know that other people have been there.
I hope to talk to you all soon!!

It took me many tries to finally quit drinking.
I was up and down ...in and out of AA.
I certainly can relate to your situation.
Just start again....now you know you can quit.
Blessings to you and your wife...
Welcome to SR!

Welcome to SR tennis. I hope you went back to your AA meetings and were honest and picked up another 24 hour chip.
Doing that humbling thing helps others who are about to relapse and those who have been sober for many years. It reminds everyone just how really cunning, baffling, and powerful alcohol is.
Honesty is the biggest key to getting and staying sober.
Do you have a sponsor? If you don't then I would suggest asking someone to be your temporary sponsor, this helped me a lot, my temporary sponsor's suggestions made my early sobriety far easier, we talked daily about anything and everything, when I heard something in a meeting I did not understand or was haveing a problem I could get answers/suggestions from him.
If you did have a sponsor and were working the steps with him, be totally honest with him, this is nothing to be ashamed of, it happens to people with 20 plus years of sobriety, you just need to be honest, it will set you free of guilt and shame. Refocus on really getting steps 1-3 down right now, as soon as you got them down do not hesitate, move right into the 4th & 5th steps, these are the freeing steps, these steps will help to free you of the bondage of self and of alcohol.

Thanks Tazman, I had a sponsor but I did not make the effort to work the steps each day and got my prioritites mixed up before the relapse.
We are working on step study tonight and at least 2 times each week, plus I am back on track to 90 in 90. It was difficult to tell my sponsor, my counselor and my group but I decided that recovery is most important and honesty is key to preventing relapse.
Thanks and I look forward to another day under my belt!

Sounds like i am reading a page out of the book of my life, countless slips and just down right failure to do what i knew i was supposed to do, leads to relapse everytime , trust me i know.. tennis if we do what is asked of us we will not fail , but if i continue not to put forth the effort i will remain the same. This is something i have problems with but hopefully i got it this time..
Take care, John
