Obligatory IMA-NOOB post

Hi all-

I'm so glad I found this site. After trying and failing time and time again to get sober by myself, I called my friend who's been sober for 15 months, and he took me to a meeting. I'd been before when I was in in-patient 2 years ago but my heart wasn't in it.

Staring death in the face has a way of changing a man. I'm only 6 days clean, but I'm determined to put 100% into my recovery and this program.

I'm so glad to be here. In this moment. Sober.

Much Love to you all.

- PaperAnchor

Hi,

Welcome!

I think any recovery program can only work if you put one hundred percent effort into it.

I'm glad you found us.

Hey . . . Welcome!

Just a question though, what does NOOB mean? I thought I had the internet slang down but I guess I don't!

I guess I've been on too many video game forums. "Noob" or "newb" or any variation thereof is short for "newbie", meaning someone new or inexperienced.

Welcome Paper Anchor.

With each day you can add some weight to that paper anchor and then use the anchor to hold you firm to the better path.

Congratulations on your choice and on your 6 days collected so far.

Hey pa,
Welcome to a great place. My three year old always runs around saying , "I'm a noob!" Now I know what she means but don't know where she got it. Keep coming and have a great day.

Okay -I checked with my three year-old (Sheila). She confidently informed me that a noob is a kind of camper. She further clarified by adding "And a moonshadow is a kind of raccoon." I'm confused.
Oh...hope you are well paperanchor.. how's it going?
