Well, I'm here

ok - I can't remember what I did last night.
I can't remeber how my little one got to bed - did Daddy put her to bed? Did I read to her as usual? I can't remember how I got a black eye.

It doesn't happen often - but I don't want it to happen AT ALL.

I have a really great little family. I drink 'cause - well it makes me less tense. I don't want to be uptight with my girl. But it's probably better to be update than drunk!

So - I'm here & I need your help.

Hi and Welcome,

I think many of us drink to self-medicate for one reason or another. And, you're right, it's better to deal with the real issues, rather than to drink. You can find healthy ways to deal with your anxiety.

Welcome to SR! If you wanna stop drinking, you're in the right place. There's a lot of good stuff here, so have a read and check out some of the stories and advice.

I too got sick of blackouts and having to face work/significant other/people in the mornings, best to stop drinking now while you still have a little one, eh?

Welcome!

Thanks to all

well - it's later in the day & I am so very glad that I found this/y'all. I even got a Private Msg from someone that helped - a lot. (I can't reply to that PM yet 'cause I have to have at least 5 posts.)

This is a good step & a positive one. I need to go home & have a good cry but I think this a really, really good thing I'm doing. I have the strength to do this & I have you to help me. At this point, I am so remorseful & embarassed that I don't even want to discuss with my husband. Having this forum, this way to get the thoughts out & learn & feel the help - well, it's a great thing.
