Whiners Anonymous Part 4
Well, CMC, the good news is that Queenie is taking a first aid course today and tomorrow (have to take it for work).
The bad news is that I faint at the sight of blood and wouldn't take my bullet-proof lipstick (that lasts all day and doesn't come off on coffee cups or anything) off to do mouth to mouth on a dummy that already had a disposable plastic bag over it's head.
I do well with bandages if you promise not to show me blood, so maybe I can fix your finger. Actually, if it's been that long you maybe should get it looked at by a doctor. It should have come out by now. Finger boo boos really ought not be neglected.
But don't let your eyeball fall out (yes, we had a video on THAT today) because I refused to watch. Queenie doesn't DO eyeballs.
I don't think I'm the best student they ever had in this course, but I do think I amuse them, so maybe they'll pass me anyway.

Ann....I hope you survive your first aide class....please don't faint in class where they teach CPR, especially all gussied up with CPR-proof lipstick!! Mr. Ann just might have to go get his shotgun.
Thx Queenie for looking out for my sore pinky. It's not infected anymore and the doc who said "leave it alone and the thing will work it's way out" also told me "I'm not going near _that_ finger." I get to soak it three times a day, it's deep and that's why it's taking so long, but it's excellent whining material dontch think?
whineable first aide trivia:
[WHINE]I learned in my course for first aide/CPR for infants, children and adults...that it's illegal (in my state) to pull a splinter out of a kid's finger!!! Yes...that is termed an invasive procedure!!! Tell that to a screaming kid.[/WHINE]

[WHINE]my other whine is I never see nor hear from some people who are perfectly capable of generating some terrific whiz-bang whines....some people just leave it to the rest.[/WHINE]

Don't worry Barb, if you get sick First Aid Nurse Queenie will fix you up good as new.
Did you know that if a person is unconscious or in shock, it is "implied consent" to treat them? Well, maybe not with a box cutter and pen trachiotomy kinda treatment, but anything reasonable done with good intent? (That's in Canada).
So they don't wanna mess with Nurse Queenie or they will be needing First Aid of another kind.

Hi Ann -
Montana is one of the last remaining states with a 'samaratin law' ... enforced.
so - up here - if someone is like that - YOU are EXPECTED to at least TRY to treat them.
dig up on that one!

it it's -20 ... and you're driving , and you see a car off the side of the road and it's remote - you are REQUIRED to stop and offer assistance.
someone walking - same thing.
you're required to stop and give them a rid - if that cold - but if normal weather - not. but if they're flagging you down - you're required to stop.
you don't haveta let 'em in (in normal weather) just to stop.
car in the ditch - same thing.
you're required to stop and see if anyone is in the car.
trippy, huh?
