Ground Hog Day
Ground Hog Day
Well -- if anyone's seen the movie, you'll understand.
Here I am again, having decided on yet another day 1.
Just wanted to post rather than simply lurking as I've been doing off and on.
I know from experience that conversing with friends like the regulars on this board as well as encouraging newcomers is a very good thing.
Thanks for always being there.

When I saw the thread title, I thought, "Wait a minute...it's not February yet! Did I sleep right through January?"
You scared me, NL! If, like the groundhog, you can see your shadow, it means there's still plenty of hope for you...so, don't you dare crawl back in that burrow!!!

And I just spoke to an SR member who lives in Punxatawney, PA - and they really do have a Groundhog!
Welcome back Newleaf, good luck with Day 1 and the rest of the first week, and glad you made it back here.

I think that member would be me?
Well, regardless of folklore, things do change in Punxsutawney, PA, as they can change anywhere. There's a little secret to it: one must put one foot in front of the other, then keep repeating the process.
Peace & Love,
Sugah

(((My friends)))
I haven't had much time to hang out here simply due to life's craziness and lasted only about three days after my last post.
But... Today's the end of day 3 for me AGAIN, and knowing that I could rely on finding all of you here -- supporting me and each other -- is what's gotten me through.
Even though I haven't yet kicked this problem, at least I can recognize some progress. I've been drinking off and on since mid July, and it was really nice for me to recently hear my youngest comment that I haven't gotten really drunk in a while. That's a baby step, and you all helped me take it.
Thanks. :ghug

Congrats on coming back here, I am on Day 3 also! Just listening to the big book being read out loud via on line bigbook
While I am at work, I am listening to the story about the good Dr.'s struggles with alcoholism and the founding of AA, pretty amazing.
Thanks again for sharing!

It's the beginning of number four for me, and I'll need to do something a little different.
I'll keep you in mind today, SS! Keep up your good work.
