Sick to my Stomach
Hello,
I am new here. My brother is the addict who I am trying to cope with. He has used everything one can imagine and grew very involved in drugs from the "high profile" to the homeless junkie. My family is crushed. I am currently not involved in any form of therapy but I will go to a naranon meeting tomorrow. I jusy got a letter from my Aunt who tried to explain that my brother has some bacterial infection of the lungs that commonly affects individuals who have contracted AIDS. I am not looking for info about that right now because I am in denial, but I feel hot and sad, and empty.

Hi and Welcome,
I am sorry about your brother, and I agree with you in not pursuing information on that topic right now. It won't help the situation and will probably cause you more upset. Maybe, you will want to do that at sometime, but for now, just take care of yourself.
