WOOHOO Blood pressure success from quitting!

Can I please share something? First I have had high blood pressure and I am fairly young. For awhile I thought I was just prone to it because my last pregnancy I wasn't drinking and I had high blood pressure. Well even with the max meds I still had blood pressure. We are talking (with meds) 150ish over 90-100ish. Last night when it was past time for my meds to my amazement without medication my blood pressure was almost normal. WOOHOO! Maybe when I go to the doctor this month I can decrease my meds.
That is success. YIPPEE
Anyone else have blood pressure changes when they quit?

To be honest I don't know, mine is a bit high now because I gained a bunch of weight when I quit smoking, when I was drinking I did not go to a doctor unless I had something really bad going on. I do know when I was going through detox it seemed like they were giving me blood pressure meds constantly!!! Glad to hear you are taking care of your self, I am starting to work more on the physical side of me now that the mental and spiritual parts of me seem to be coming together.

Also Tazman I have started exercising and drinking celery juice which they say will help with high blood pressure.
But I honestly think that quitting alcohol was the main contributor. I am only 37 so just imagine my health at 47 if I continued. EEKK If I even made it that long.
DAMN I was so clueless........killing myself for a 3 hour buzz every evening!

My blood pressure dropped to normal range
after I quit drinking.
I have been off BP meds for 18 sober years.

I do hope you too will find this true.

Alcoholism is slow suicide - keep reminding yourself of that.
Glad your feeling better Nohangs!
Stick with it.

nohangs that is a good move, I actually joined a gym yesterday, going tonight for the first time in years, I used to be quite buff before sports and motorcyle injuries messed up my knees, shoulder, and ankles, I kept meaning to start back but my drinking took over the important things in my life. Keep taking care of all of you, focus on change of self, get more spiritual, those 2 things will whip the obsession, the physical part is also important but can not be put in front of the mental and spiritual. You doing well and it will only get better if you keep working at it.

That's good new nogard because I have issues with my sugar levels and my cholestrol. I hope the same holds true for me, now that would be awesome!
