That's great Laura. It does feel good clear headed and rested. We barely made it to 12:00am. Happy New Year to everyone.

YAY!!! Me too!! It really is great to be able to get some stuff done today. I spent the night drinking coffee and soda. I really didn't miss the alcohol at all.

Congrats Laura! Awesome feeling isn't it. This was my first sober New Years in 20 years. I didn't even make it to midnight.
Woke this morning, made a nice breakfest for everyone and played with my son.
So much better than hugging the toilet.

Thanks, all. We actually went to a party, but it was very low-key. I drank plain tonic water and lime, and my husband didn't drink either. I think we were about the only people who weren't. But, you know, we had a good time. We had some great conversations, and at midnight watched the fireworks (our friends live on a hill overlooking the city- San Francisco, with a fantastic view). We drove home sober, and went to bed at 1:30 in the morning. For a moment the chardonnay in people's glasses looked tempting, but the memory of too many hangovers quickly ended any temptation I was feeling. It's nice to wake up and not think, "Oh God, what did I say? Did I do anything embarrassing??"

Way to go! The only time I can remember waking up without a hangover on New Year's is when I was pregnant with my kiddos.
It felt nice to wake up and feel great. I was so dang productive today!
