For those between two weeks and 30 days sober

I'm out of the up to two weeks thread and am already going through withdrawals so I thought I would take the advice of Ashar and gravity and start a thread that two weekers can graduate to if they like.

If you have two weeks under your belt and aren't quite to 30 days, feel free to post for the support we all need and a great place to share.

Peace

Sorry to jump in Awake, but Carol, I think Awake meant "he's having withdrawls from our 2 wks and under thread". :rof

At least that's what I hope he's referring to.

See you soon Awake.

Hmmm...
When I see someone mention withdrawal...
I'd be remiss if I did not share information.

Soooo...either way...it's here

Omega is right . . . my current withdrawal is from the support of my fellow newbies, but I look forward to their arrivals

Thanks all the same CarolD. Everything happens for a reason, so the info you shared will help when it is needed. I've already started reading about PAWS a bit already.

Thanks again

Follow up: PAWS

Perhaps my play on words will serve a purpose after all.

After reading about Post Acute Withdrawal, I think it is something we should be aware of as we progress in recovery. If we understand what is happening, we will be better equipped to respond and seek extra support when we need it.

I recommend following the link CarolD left when you come to this thread--I think it will be helpful.

Peace

Well I guess we've got 3 for day 15--because that's me as well. Congrats to both of you. I am feeling good about making it through the family gatherings and stress of Christmas.

So far I have been busy with work and getting ready for Christmas, but I am off work until Jan 7th, so the goal is to stay busy with positive stuff. Normally I would only be sober every few mornings just long enough to go stock up for the next few days, so it's going to be quite the experience to have all this time. I'm sure I will be in SR a lot

I'm on my 25th day today...I'm feeling better every single day, and am faithfully going to AA meetings at least 4 times a week (as many as I can manage) I am very serious about maintaining my sobriety for the long haul, but am terrified that I'll relapse at some point if I don't stay on top of things. I'm starting to realize that sobriety is going to be an ongoing effort, probably for the rest of my life. It's overwhelming but not nearly as scary as the thought of continuing with the drinking.

Congrats to everyone on here and I look forward to hearing what you all have to say (and I'm going to check out Carol's link! )

Today is my day 14. I'm going through some heavy personal issues caused by my drinking, but my commitment to sobriety has not wavered. Congrats to all of us!
