AA meeting tonight!
I just got a call from a very cool guy I met at Friday nights AA meeting. He just wanted to see how I was doing, actually he called to give me some grief about one of the football scores and then asked how I was doing.
How cool is that.
I told him I was going tonight, so whose going with me?
My bus is leaving tonight for the meeting, anyone else committed to go tonight?

Yes...I attended AA today.
I perfer day ones....in fact
my first home group in D.C. meets at 7 a.m.
I found starting my day with AA
made work go smoother.

I went to an 8:35 AM meeting this morning! It was a great meeting. I was also going to go to one tonight at 7, but my daughter is acting crazy and I am going to help her daddy get her to sleep! I also like daytime meetings - I have a day one on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I like my Friday and Saturday night meetings too, but it is hard getting out every night - so the day ones make sure I get one in.

PS - in a small town doesn't everyone already know everything about you anyways?
PPS - your almost to Day 4. Great Job!
My home group is just round the corner from where I work, and I often see people I know, coming and going.
It used to bother me, but not any more, I am actually proud to be sober, I am sober and I am free!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaay!
Another meeting I go to regularly is in the same street as 2 of my work collegues LOL, it also has a HUGE AA sign out the front ! i used to worry about that too, but no more

I have run into people in public but it has never been a problem.
I also met a couple of people I know at the meeting. Awkward but I survived . But right now, getting the help I need is way more important than my pride. I honestly believe that most people I know wouldn't care anyway. I am not the centre of their universe .
If AA isn't for me, no problem. I owe it to myself to at least attend some meetings and I will work through the steps. For me, doing this has few downsides but huge possibilities.
Just my thoughts.
