A Christmas Gift to Myself
Hi guys, I just celebrated 91 days today. I got my blood chip tonight at my home group. The color of my chip is Magenta. I just say its purple, its easier.
I can't believe I made it 3 months. There was a few times that i really wanted to drink this month. Especially with the stress this month worrying about my cat and whining and being grumpy that i can't drink for Christmas. But i made it.
It's truly a Christmas gift to myself this year.

Way to go scardycat, that is awesome.
8 I am so glad you were able to find a solution to your cat. It can be such stress to have animals that are sick or hurt as they can not tell us how bad they feel and it sometimes is hard to realize there is something wrong until they are really sick. It takes a lot of love and courage to be willing to put the time and money in that it takes to take care of a diabetic animal. You're awesome. Keep up the good work. I am glad you are here, you bring a light to this place that can not be replaced.

Well done. In early December of 1995 I hear a Christmas song on the radio and promised myself that this would be the year I'd experience Christmas again. I missed the family parties, friends, nieces, nephews - all of that. I decided to go out one last night...early January i heard that song again. I was stunned. I had done it again. Another Christmas gone and I had missed it in a blur of alcohol and cocaine. I felt like crying. Christmas was gone.
For us, scaredykat, that won't happen again. This year there will be family, friends, my own kids!!!

How Wonderful....I learned about a Holiday Drink from another alcoholic lady that worked for her at partys...She liked cola & Egg Nog together. I do the same thing with cold coffee creamer & cola...it is yummy and I feel like I have a special drink too.
