60 days today
Well, today is my day 60. I am very grateful for the life I've had over the past 2 months. My clear head has given me the chance to focus on many priorities that had slipped while under the influence. I feel amazing every morning and look forward to each new day.
In the past the holidays and New Years in particular have been a big drinking time for me. I am really looking forward to a sober celebration this year. So far temptation has not been a problem, we have had alcohol in the house for the entire 60 days. I wonder if it will be harder during the holidays and have been making it a priority to read the forums and remind myself of all the reasons I quit on a daily basis. Actively working on identifying triggers and responding to them has been a huge help. I would say I'm cautiously optimistic.
I just wanted to check in and say hi and wish everyone a fantastic holiday. Enjoy the company of loved ones and use the year's end as a time to reflect on the priorities in your life.

Good for you!
Yes, figuring out why you have urges to drink really helps to keep things focused. I think the holidays can be an emotional time for everybody, so it is something to be cautious about. However, experiencing Christmas sober and enjoying it will be such a blessing.
