1st Therapy session
HI all- I had my first therapy session last night and it went really well. My shrink has been sober for over 20 years, so he has first hand experience. We connected well, and I think he'll be able to help me. He kept stressing that I needed a support system- more than just my husband. We're going to meet weekly for a while, since sobriety is so new to me-- 7 days today!
Anyway, just wanted all to know I'm doing well. I just got a book I ordered on Amazon called "Sober for Good" which was co-authored by people who have been successful at quitting. Guess I'll be reading rather than drinking tonight! :bounce

Hi Laura.
What great steps you taking! A sober therapist.. a wise choice to begin
with..many choose one they think they can "snow" ...it seems you are
serious about getting help. Read the book and discuss with your doctor and
please with us also..
I am glad you have found SR...it is a great place to come to when a book
isn 't quite enough and your therapist isn't available ....
Someone is always here to talk with and just listen.
My best to you!
